My path

Explaining is my craft. Not just coding.

For more than ten years I have built software that runs in everyday business: as a developer, lead developer and today as Head of Engineering at a SaaS company. I know what it takes until a tool really helps, and what goes wrong when you want too much too early.

Since 2018 I have also been consulting and training companies and teams. With AI, the question has shifted: no longer "Can we build this?" but "Where does it really help us?". That is where I start: listening, understanding workflows, showing what is possible and implementing it together.

As founder and host of AI Nights I am on stage regularly and reach more than 100,000 people a month on social media as @der.pabst. Both help me explain technology in a way that sticks.

AI Nights

Host of more than 20 evenings a year

I founded AI Nights in 2025 because I wanted a place where people try AI instead of only talking about it: short talks, live demos, real tools. Today it is the largest regular AI afterwork format in the Nuremberg metro region.

What I stand for

Software only counts once it runs in daily business.

I have spent ten years building software that runs in production, not on slides. AI does not change that fundamentally: it amplifies what a team is already good at.

AI shifts where the work is: less typing, more deciding, checking and owning outcomes. That is why every rollout includes the question of who checks the results.

I am not the consultant who disappears after the workshop. I say early and clearly when an idea is not ready yet. An uncomfortable truth today beats a failed project in three months.

In the end only one thing matters to me: that your team can do more when I leave than before.
